This is a very hard-pulling kite that can drag you across the flying field in stronger winds! Stack 2 or 3 together if you want to get REALLY crazy!! What a feeling!!!
My first real stuntkite. I bought the red/black one on the right (well-used)
for $50 primarily for formation flying with a local kiting buddy (Danny
Helms) who has one that's purple (tips) and flourescent pink (center diamond)
where mine is black and red. This is our #1 recommended kite for beginners for
several reasons -- positive feel (easy to fly), wide wind-range, and very durable
(this red/black Griffin shown above was 6 years old when this photo was taken,
the yellow/blue one was about 4 months old).
See the listing of available colors on our Griffin Page.

This is a great second kite after the Griffin or Beetle. Much more capable of axles and 540's and oh so smoooth! Trailing edge leech line and winglets make this one the strong silent type. Highly recommended for any level of sophistication. We often refer to the C-3 as a Griffin that's been to college -- much more refined and versatile.
Turbo bridle gives extremely tight and responsive steering without diminishing its straight tracking.

Totally Awesome!!! One of the most fun freestyle tricksters for 1998 (from Spain). Fast and responsive, this little six-footer has all the moves! Flies like a smaller, faster Voodoo that spins tighter! Don't let the Eolo name scare you -- Dodd Gross has made sure they've got their act together in the quality-control department. Very highly recommended!

A bit larger and slower than the Tango (but still agile), the MIDI is another great new face for 1998 (from Chris Matheson). A further refinement of Matheson's classic Midi Sandpiper. Highly recommended.
Also check out the Zenith (also new for 1998) which replaces the (older) AzizA in Chris's lineup of designs.
Chris has taken back over the manufacture of his kites from HQ. All 1999 models will be coming directly from Matheson in the U.K.

Designed by Martin Schob of Jam Design in Germany, the TRICKTAIL is the first truly innovative delta kite in a very long time. This is a finesse kite designed not only to do every stunt currently known in a smooth flowing manner, but it also does stunts that no other delta can do, thanks to it's unique patented "tricktail". The TrickTail® system permits the pilot to experience three dimensional control of the kite. The unique upswept keel acts as rudder enabling the pilot to fly with extreme precision, and execute sharp turns at any speed. The combination of the keel and the bridle system also provides the pilot with the possibility to guide and steer the kite in every position. The cumulative result is a totally new, smooth and elegant flying technique, full of harmony. The "tricktail" is formed in the shape of a ship's bow permitting very smooth airflow over the kite, while generating very little turbulence off the trailing edge. This lack of turbulence creates the ideal environment for tight formation flying. Constant speed, sharp edges, the tightest turns and stable straight flight are characteristics that every precision and team pilot wishes for. These characteristics are standard with the TrickTail.
The TrickTail provides the near perfect transformation of the pilot's steering impulses into smooth controlled flight, guaranteeing optimal behavior in competitions.

The Breeze is HQ's new ultralight kite!
It is made from the lightest Ventex polyester material, pure,
prestretched Dyneema line and 4 mm carbon fiber tubing.
Through careful additional weight conservation we have
created a kite that can offer its full performance even in the
slightest of breezes. It is highly robust and can take a good gust
or two of wind.
One of its most noticeable features is the Breeze's new type of
bridle. It has a 3+3 bridle, which combines dynamic function
with complete control. The Breeze reacts to the slightest
steering motions, flies very precisely and can do any number of
tricks. For a kite of this size, it is amazingly agile - which is
important in low wind and with short lines!
With two knot leaders, the kite can be adjusted to different
preferences and wind speeds. You can also move the outer
standoffs to change the tunnel shape.
The Breeze is specially designed to fly in the slightest of winds.
You can even fly it indoors to an extent. To do this, it is best to
remove the outer standoffs altogether.
